Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world’s first voice controlled smart candle. The Pyllr Trio will be that candle.”
For those unaware, that’s paraphrased from the opening credits of The Six Million Dollar Man, a television show that aired in the late 70s. That’s our mindset when it comes to the Pyllr Trio – we want to modernize the candle.

The technical heart of the Pyllr Trio is a dual-core Xtensa 32-bit microprocessor; the dual core gives us the compute power to (a) maintain a consistent wireless connection, (b) render the flicker, and (c) control and monitor the heating element.
We run the processor at 240 MHz; this gives us the speed to provide microsecond adjustments to the flicker to make it as realistic as possible.
Other components include:
- a heating element with thermal runaway protection
- touch sensors for user control
- status LEDs to indicate operational state (on, off, high heat, low heat, etc.)
- real time clock that we use to auto shut off after 3 hours
- individually addressable LEDs that provide multiple color combinations
Now, we don’t expect everyone to go “gaga” over the hardware, but we do think it’s important to talk a bit about the technology behind the Pyllr Trio; we believe that our technology, coupled with our embrace of traditional candle making methods, makes this device different from other run-of-the-mill flameless candles.
